Pro includes AuraPlay’s movie playback, 3D support, AuraLink streaming, AuraLight and cinema environments. It adds live HDMI video and audio through a compatible USB capture adapter connected to your Quest.

Play on a huge screen in passthrough or inside a virtual cinema. HDMI capture requires additional hardware; latency and supported resolution depend on the adapter and source.

Pro is a separate sideload edition, not an in-app unlock for the free Meta Store app. Protected HDMI content may be blocked by HDCP. AuraPlay does not bypass copy protection.

What you’ll need.

  • A Meta Quest 3 or Quest 3S.
  • A compatible UVC USB HDMI capture adapter and a suitable USB-C connection or hub.
  • Your console, PC or other compatible HDMI source, plus an HDMI cable.
  • A computer and a sideloading tool to install the Pro APK.

Installation, step by step.

  1. Follow the SideQuest setup guide, including Developer Mode for your Quest.
  2. Connect the Quest to your computer and approve the connection in the headset.
  3. Install the Pro APK provided with your purchase, or the demo APK for testing.
  4. Open AuraPlay Pro from Unknown Sources, connect your capture adapter and select HDMI input.
Check your adapter’s UVC compatibility, audio support, power requirements and capture modes before purchase. A device’s advertised HDMI input resolution is not necessarily its USB capture resolution.

Prefer to start with films?

The free Meta Store edition already includes movie playback, 3D, virtual cinemas and PC/NAS streaming. You only need Pro for live HDMI capture.
